Pedestrian killed in early-morning accident in Summerland area

HOUSTON, TX – A pedestrian was killed in the Summerland area in northeast Houston after they were hit by a car early this morning, according to KPRC2 and the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

The accident happened at around 1 a.m. on the feeder road for N Beltway 8 W and W Lake Houston Pkwy when a driver struck a pedestrian.

The victim, who was not publicly identified, died as a result.

No other injuries were reported in the crash.

Authorities do not believe that the driver, who remained at the crash site, was under the influence when the crash occurred.

The westbound feeder road was closed for multiple hours for the investigation and cleanup of the accident.
