Person changing flat tire struck and killed by hit-and-run driver on I-10

HOUSTON, TX – A person changing a flat tire was fatally struck by a hit-and-run driver on the East Freeway this weekend, according to KTRK.

The accident occurred on Saturday on the East Freeway (I-10), near Federal Road.

A person operating a truck pulling a trailer had stepped out of their car, and had parked on the side of the road. They were changing a flat tire when another driver swerved into them and their vehicle, then fled the scene.

The victim, who was not immediately identified, died as a result.

Authorities stated that they have obtained possible information on the suspect’s vehicle, but no description was immediately released.

The accident remains under investigation.
