KLEIN, TX (HARRIS COUNTY) – Street racing may have played a role in a three-injury accident in Klein, located west of Spring, early this morning, according to a report by KTRK.

The crash happened near the intersection of Rhodes Rd and Kuykendahl Rd at about 1:30 a.m. when the drivers of a Ford Mustang and a Dodge Charger lost control of their vehicles.

Both cars flipped over an unspecified number of times before coming to rest in a ditch.

A man was airlifted to the hospital with what were presumably serious wounds. Another man and a woman were taken to the hospital by ground transportation.

One of the victims was a passenger, while the other two were the drivers.

Both vehicles were speeding when the accident occurred, and were traveling in the same direction, suggesting that they may have been racing when they lost control of their vehicles.

Authorities continue to investigate the accident at this time.
