CLEVELAND, TX (LIBERTY COUNTY) – One person was airlifted to the hospital in critical condition and another two people were injured after a head-on collision this weekend in Liberty County, in the northeast Houston area, according to the Montgomery County Police Reporter.
The accident happened on SH-321 near Tarkington Bayou at about 10 p.m. Saturday when a male driver, who has yet to be publicly identified, crossed over the center line and into the lane of oncoming traffic. The man then collided with a GMC pickup truck head-on.
The driver of the first vehicle was airlifted to the hospital in Conroe with life-threatening injuries.
The GMC’s driver and his passenger were taken to the hospital with injuries that were not expected to be life-threatening.
Authorities closed SH-321 for about an hour for the investigation of the collision.
