Woman killed while taking out trash in SW Houston hit-and-run

HOUSTON, TX – A woman taking out the trash was hit and killed in the parking lot of an apartment complex in what police believe was likely a hit-and-run collision Monday night, according to KHOU.

The accident occurred in the 3000 block of Elmside Dr at the Villas Del Paseo Apartment Complex, located in southwest Houston, and approximately between 10 p.m. and 12 a.m. Tuesday when a woman, who has yet to be publicly identified, was walking across the complex parking lot.

She was struck by a driver who then fled the scene without attempting to help the victim.

She died at the scene and was discovered in the parking lot yesterday morning.

Authorities are using the security camera footage from the apartment complex in their search for further information and for the suspect.
