Driver charged with DWI after deadly Edinburg crash

EDINBURG, TX – One person is dead after a DWI suspect caused a head-on collision in Edinburg on Christmas morning, KRGV reports. 

The accident occurred around 2:30 a.m. on the 400 block of East Trenton Road.

A 29-year-old man was driving a Nissan pick-up truck west when we crossed into the eastbound lanes and struck a Nissan Sentra.

The Sentra had three occupants, including one who was killed in the crash.

The pickup truck driver fled the scene but was later found and arrested. He has been charged with intoxicated manslaughter, two counts of intoxicated assault, and three charges of accident involving injury or death.
