Infant killed in Harlingen crash, driver charged

HARLINGEN, TX – A 21-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the death of an infant in a Harlingen crash on Saturday, KRGV reports. 

The accident occurred on the 1300 block of South Commerce Street on Saturday night. Police attempted to pull over a white vehicle when it fled briefly before crashing.

The driver left behind the infant, who had suffered severe injuries, and fled the scene on foot. The infant was rushed to a local hospital and later died due to its injuries.

The driver, who was later identified as the baby’s father, was arrested and charged with murder and evading arrest.
