2 killed in crash in Reagan County

REAGAN COUNTY, TX – NewsWest9 reports that 2 elderly women were killed in a crash in Reagan County on Tuesday night.

Authorities say the collision took place around 7:00 p.m., near the intersection of State Highway 137 and Ranch to Market Road 1357. 70-year-old Doyle Ray Bridger-Pruneda was driving a car west on Ranch to Market Road 1457, carrying two passengers: 95-year-old Myrtie Lee Hoeft and 86-year-old Sayble Jackson Bridger.

When Bridger-Pruneda drove his vehicle through a stop sign where State Highway 137 intersects Ranch to Market Road 1357, a tractor-trailer driving north on the State Highway collided with the passenger car.

Bridger-Puneda sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Midland Memorial Hospital for treatment. His passengers, Hoeft and Bridger, were both killed in the impact. The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured in the crash.

Police continue to investigate this incident.
