2 truck drivers dead after fiery, 2-semi collision on Hwy 302 east of Kermit

NOTREES, TX – Two men were killed after two semi-trucks collided on Highway 302, east of Kermit early Saturday morning, according to the El Paso Times.

The crash happened about 15 miles east of Kermit, near the town of Notrees, at 4:30 a.m. Saturday, after two Freightliner semi-trucks collided head-on near a construction site. Both trucks then burst into flames.

The truck drivers, 58-year-old Del Rio man Jose A. Alonso-Montelongo and 68-year-old Horizon City resident Gilberto Uresti, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities continue to investigate the crash at this time.
