MARTIN COUNTY, TX — A 23-year-old El Paso woman died Sunday afternoon after a crash that left a toddler seriously injured in Martin County, reports CBS7.
The Texas Department of Public Safety said the fatal accident happened on the westbound lanes shortly after the young woman fell asleep behind the wheel of her truck at highway speeds.
An early investigation shows the driver partially crossed the center median before overcorrecting, causing the truck to flip several times.
The female driver and her passenger, a 3-year-old child, both suffered serious injuries. Both patients were rushed to a local hospital, where the woman later died.
