Driver hospitalized after nearly crashing off Loop 250 in west Midland

MIDLAND, TX — A West Texas Food Bank truck nearly crashed off Loop 250 in west Midland Tuesday after its driver suffered a medical episode, reports NewsWest9.

The incident took place on the northbound lanes of Loop 250 near Texas State Highway 191, on the morning of October 11.

City of Midland officials said a man was driving the truck northbound when the medical emergency occurred, causing him to run through a light. The truck ran towards the TX-191 embankment and was then seen hanging off the side of the road.

First responders transported the male driver to Midland Memorial Hospital. At this time, it remains unclear whether the victim suffered significant crash-related injuries.

No other injuries were reported and no other vehicles were involved.
