ODESSA, TX – A 9-year-old boy sustained serious injuries last Thursday when a vehicle hit him in east-central Ector County.

The accident happened around 4:30 p.m. at Pile Ranch Road and Valley Road, which is on the northeast side of the city.

Police say that a westbound City of Odessa Utility vehicle struck a child on a bicycle in the intersection.

The boy suffered a skull fracture, brain breeding, broken ribs, and injured lungs.

It’s unclear if the driver will face charges.
