Narrative

ODESSA, TX – A 64-year-old man died on Tuesday morning in Odessa after running a stop sign and colliding with two semi-trucks along Loop 338.

The incident happened around 6:05 a.m. in the area of Loop 338 and Hammett Drive, which is on the eastern outskirts of the city.

Police say the westbound driver of a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado ignored a traffic sign and crashed into the side-rear of a northbound 18-wheeler. The pickup continued travelling into the southbound lanes and was struck by a second tractor trailer.

The driver of the pickup truck, identified as Delfino Acosta-Contreras, died at the scene of the accident.

Neither truck driver sustained injuries.
