Motorcyclist dies after crash with truck on Business I-20 in SW Midland

MIDLAND, TX — A 24-year-old man died Tuesday morning after his motorcycle hit a truck on Business Interstate 20 in southwest Midland, reports NewsWest9.

The Texas Department of Transportation said the fatal crash happened in an area near Cinergy Midland and was first reported at about 6:00 a.m.

Authorities said the motorcyclist was traveling westbound on BI-20 at the same time a truck was heading eastbound. At one point, the motorcyclist struck the back right of the truck as its driver tried to make a left turn into a parking lot.

The rider, a resident of Fort Myers, Florida, died from his injuries at the scene.

No injuries to the other driver were reported.

At this time, officials have not shared any details regarding possible charges or citations.

DPS continues to investigate.
