OPD investigates serious wreck on W County Rd in NW Odessa

ODESSA, TX — According to NewsWest9, Odessa Police responded to a major collision late Monday night on West County Road in northwest Odessa.

The accident happened at the intersection with West University Boulevard, near the Walgreens store. It was first reported by NewsWest9 at 10:15 p.m.

Officials have not disclosed details on the cause of the crash or the parties involved, but motorists were asked to avoid the area during the response and investigation.

A photo captured at the scene indicates at least two vehicles, a blue sedan and a red SUV, were involved. The SUV sustained major front-end damage, and its airbags appear to have been deployed in the impact of the crash.

The Odessa Police Department continues to investigate.
