School bus crash on I-20 leaves three dead

BIG SPRING, TX – Three men were killed on Friday when a school bus crashed into a pickup truck on I-20 near Big Spring, KRGV reports. 

The bus was travelling from Andrews High School to a playoff football game between Andrews and Springtown. Three buses were driving east when one was struck by westbound truck in the wrong lane. A second bus then became involved in the collision. After the collision the pickup truck burst into flames.

The 59-year-old truck driver was killed along with the 69-year-old driver of the first bus and a 53-year-old band director from Andrews High School.

Two students from the first bus were critically injured and taken to a hospital in Lubbock. 11 other students were hospitalized in Big Springs for minor injuries.
