Woman fatally hit by truck tractor on W I-20 in Odessa

ECTOR COUNTY, TX — A Kermit woman died early last Thursday, October 27, after being hit by a truck tractor on West Interstate 20 in Odessa, reports YourBasin.

The fatal pedestrian crash occurred in the 2400 block of W I-20 shortly after 1:00 a.m.

According to an early investigation by the Odessa Police Department, the woman was walking in the outside eastbound lane when a white 2020 International Truck Tractor heading eastbound approached in the same lane.

Officials said the driver used an evasive maneuver in an attempt to avoid the female pedestrian, but the truck ultimately hit her.

The victim died from her injuries at the scene.

At this time, no pending charges or citations have been reported. An investigation remains in progress.
