1 dead, 1 injured after semi-truck blows tire, bursts into flames near Seguin

SEGUIN, TX – One person was killed and another was injured in a fiery rollover crash caused by a blown-out tire on an 18-wheeler truck on I-10 yesterday morning, according to KSAT.

The collision happened on eastbound I-10, near FM 725 Road at about 7 a.m., when a tire blew on a semi-truck. This caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle and to go over the side of a bridge. The vehicle went down a slope and onto FM 725, where it burst into flames.

A passenger in the truck was pronounced dead at the scene.

The truck driver was taken to the hospital in San Antonio for the treatment of undisclosed injuries.

The accident remains under investigation.
