1 killed, 1 injured near Devil’s Backbone in New Braunfels

NEW BRAUNFELS, TX –  The New Braunfels Herald-Zeitung reports that a two-vehicle collision north of New Braunfels on Friday evening left one woman dead and another injured.

Authorities say the incident occurred around 5:30 p.m. near Devils Backbone, when the driver of a Ford Mustang traveling southeast on Ranch-to-Market Road 32 lost control of her vehicle while negotiating a turn. The Mustang veered into the oncoming lanes, where it collided head-on with a northwest-bound Lincoln MKX.

The driver of the Ford was ejected from her car, and was pronounced dead on the scene. The driver of the Lincoln had to be removed from her vehicle by first responders and was treated for injuries at Seton-Hays Hospital in Kyle.

Police continue to investigate this incident.
