2 dead, man and 2 children hospitalized after head-on crash in Fredericksburg

FREDERICKSBURG, TX – Two adults were killed, and three people, including two children, were hospitalized following a head-on collision on State Highway 16 in Fredericksburg this weekend, according to KXAN.

The crash happened in the 3000 block of S SH-16, near Lady Bird Drive and Quiet Drive at 9:12 p.m. Saturday, when a minivan and a truck collided head-on.

38-year-old David Rodrigues, the truck driver, died at the scene.

A passenger in the minivan, 27-year-old Kayla Maughan, was also pronounced dead at the crash site.

The driver of the minivan, who was Maughan’s husband, and their two children were airlifted to the hospital in San Antonio for treatment.
