Narrative

SAN ANTONIO, TX – One person died, and another sustained serious injuries Saturday in a wrong-way collision along the interstate near downtown San Antonio.

The collision occurred around 2 a.m. Saturday in the area of I-30 and I-10, which is just west of Central Library and east of Cattleman Square.

Police say that a 25-year-old driver entered the wrong side of the interstate and crashed head on into another vehicle, killing the other driver and critically injuring the passenger.

Authorities have not yet identified the victim in the crash, but they say she was a female.

The wrong-way driver has been charged with DWI and intoxication assault.

The investigation is ongoing.
