Crash in Kerrville leaves high school student dead

KERRVILLE, TX – A 17-year-old high school student was killed in an accident on IH-10 near Kerrville on Thursday night, KSAT reports. 

The victim was a passenger in a Ford pickup truck that was travelling at a high speed on IH-10 when it approached a Kia from behind. In an attempt to avoid a collision, the driver swerved to the left. The pickup struck the Kia anyway and rolled several times into a ravine.

The victim was not wearing a seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene. Two other passengers were injured and taken to University Hospital. The driver remained uninjured. No injuries have been reported from anyone in the Kia.
