Driver charged with intoxication manslaughter after San Antonio crash

SAN ANTONIO, TX – A driver was charged with intoxication manslaughter after a crash in northwest San Antonio that left one person dead on Saturday night, KSAT reports. 

The suspect was travelling east on Culebra Road in a red Dodge pickup truck when he ran a red light at the Zarzamora Street intersection.

His truck collided into the side of a Chevrolet truck and sent it spinning to a Jeep Patriot that was stopped on the other side of the intersection.

One passenger in the Chevrolet, a 53-year-old woman, was killed at the scene. The driver and two other passengers sustained serious injuries and were taken to University Hospital.

One person in the Jeep also suffered serious injuries and was taken to Brooke Army Medical Center.

The driver of the Dodge suffered minor injuries and has been charged with intoxication manslaughter and three counts of intoxication assault.
