Driver cut out of car after slamming into utility pole in South San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO, TX – Emergency crews had to cut a driver out of his vehicle after he crashed it into a utility pole in South San Antonio on Tuesday morning, according to KSAT.

The collision happened near Roosevelt Avenue on SE Military Drive and S Flores Street at around 7 a.m., when the driver of a purple Dodge Charger lost control of his vehicle while reportedly traveling at a high rate of speed.

The vehicle then slammed into a nearby utility pole, causing debris and a tire to fly across the roadway.

The driver was cut out of his vehicle via a hole in the roof and was then taken to the hospital for the treatment of non-critical injuries.

Debris from the crash also struck a woman getting off a bus nearby, though she did not require treatment.

Authorities continue to investigate the accident at this time.
