Man dead, multiple people injured after series of crashes on Blanco Rd

SAN ANTONIO, TX – A 32-year-old man was killed and multiple other people were injured in a subsequent crash on Blanco Road in northern Bexar County on Sunday evening, according to KSAT.

The crash happened in the 24000 block of Blanco Road, near W Oak Estates Drive, at about 7:30 p.m., when 32-year-old Andrew Joseph Benavidez’s vehicle swerved into the pathway of oncoming traffic. There, his vehicle crashed into a pickup truck.

Benavidez died at the scene.

No injuries were reported from the pickup truck.

A third driver reportedly caused a secondary collision north of the fatal wreck. Multiple people were taken to the hospital for the treatment of non-critical injuries as a result.

Traffic was closed on Blanco Rd for several hours following both collisions.
