Man hospitalized after suspected DWI crash early this morning on I-35

SAN ANTONIO, TX – A man was hospitalized after being hurt in a crash early this morning on I-35 that authorities believe may have involved intoxicated driving, according to KSAT.

The crash happened in Northeast San Antonio, in the 3800 block of southbound I-35, near Seguin Road and Binz Englemen, at around 2:30 a.m., when a driver traveled off the highway and down an embankment.

The vehicle went into a ditch, then over a second street and into another ditch. The driver appears to have accelerated before finally crashing into the grassy median.

A male passenger, who was not immediately identified, was taken to the hospital in stable condition.

The driver, whose identity was also not released, was taken into police custody on suspicion of driving while intoxicated. Authorities continue to investigate the collision at this time.
