Motorcyclist killed in crash on highway 80 in San Marcos

SAN MARCOS, TX – Corridor News reports that a motorcyclist was killed in a crash in San Marcos on Wednesday, March 23.

The incident took place just before 5:00 p.m. on State Highway 80 near the Walmart. 46-year-old Dylan Grose of San Marcos was heading northeast when a Ford F-150 hit his motorcycle while trying to take a left turn. Grose was taken to Christus Santa Rose Hospital for treatment, where he later died.

The driver of the F-150 was uninjured but was asked to provide a blood draw to be tested for intoxicants. Marijuana was discovered inside the pickup truck in a vehicle search conducted by SMPD officers. After being cited for drug possession, the driver was released pending results from the blood test.

Authorities continue to investigate the collision.
