Narrative
A woman was killed early Thursday when a car overturned off Interstate 35 after its driver fled a traffic stop near downtown San Antonio. The fatal wreck occurred along the southbound lanes at North Frio Street on November 17, shortly before 3:00 a.m. According to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office, deputies attempted to pull over a car, but the driver refused to stop. Moments later, the driver failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway, causing the car to crash off the bridge and onto the street below. Officials said the female victim, who was a passenger in the car, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The male driver suffered undisclosed injuries and was transported to a local hospital under custody. An investigation into the crash remains in progress.
