Narrative

SAN ANTONIO, TX – On Monday at approximately 1 a.m., a fatal head-on collision occurred in the eastbound lanes of US-90 West.

The driver of a pickup truck, identified as Christopher James Davila, 39 years old, was heading west in the eastbound lanes of the highway. At the same time, a sedan driven by 22-year-old Darion Jude Hendrick-Escobedo was traveling west.

Davila’s pickup truck collided head-on with the sedan, resulting in significant damage to both vehicles. All involved parties were transported to the hospital for medical evaluation and treatment.

Hendrick-Escobedo was pronounced dead at the hospital. Davila sustained multiple serious injuries and was admitted to the hospital under proxy.

Two children who were passengers in Davila’s vehicle suffered minor injuries and were subsequently released after receiving medical care.

The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office has charged Davila with intoxication manslaughter, two counts of driving while intoxicated with a child under 15 years old, and two counts of injury to a child with bodily injury-reckless. He is currently being held on a $300,000 bond.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing, and further details will be provided as they become available.
