Narrative

A man died late Tuesday night after being struck by a vehicle on Rigsby Avenue in San Antonio’s East Side area. The fatal incident occurred in the 5300 block of the road (U.S. Highway 87), between Loop 410 and Bermuda Drive. The sequence of events remains unknown at this time, but San Antonio Police believe the male pedestrian may have been hit by an 18-wheeler. Officers, fire crew members, and medics arrived on the scene to find the victim lying unconscious in the roadway. He died from his injuries at the scene. At this time, authorities have not been able to confirm the victim was struck by a semi-truck, but investigators were working on seeking out nearby surveillance footage. An investigation remains ongoing.
