Narrative
BEXAR COUNTY, TX — A man died Friday morning after a two-vehicle crash involving a big rig in San Antonio’s Northeast Side.
The accident happened in the 3900 block of Naco Perrin Boulevard, near Bulverde Road and Wurzbach Parkway, just before 7:00 a.m.
According to San Antonio Police, a white van was heading southbound on Bulverde Road, when, for reasons still unknown, it veered to the left and jumped a concrete median. The van then traveled the wrong way into the northbound side of Naco Perrin Boulevard. Moments later, it collided head-on with a northbound big rig.
The victim, who was sitting in the front passenger seat, died from his injuries at the scene.
Medics rushed the driver of the van to a local hospital with critical injuries.
Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the fatal crash.
