SAN ANTONIO, TX – A woman was injured after she crashed her car into a pole at a high rate of speed in northwest San Antonio early this morning, according to information from KSAT.

The crash occurred in the 6500 block of UTSA Boulevard, near Babcock Road and Valero Way, at 1:45 a.m., as the 20-year-old driver of a green 2006 Ford Focus was reportedly traveling at a high rate of speed.

She failed to properly round a turn in the roadway, then overcorrected her vehicle. This caused the Focus to overturn multiple times before it crashed into a utility pole. The vehicle flipped around the pole, then landed upside-down.

The driver, who was not immediately identified, was pinned within the wreckage of the crash. After being extricated by emergency crews, she was taken to the hospital with non-critical injuries.

Authorities believe that she may have been under the influence when the crash occurred. Their investigation continues at this time.
