Wrong-way crash in San Antonio leaves three injured

SAN ANTONIO, TX – Three people were injured by a wrong-way collision caused by a drunk driver in San Antonio on Sunday morning, KSAT reports. 

The incident occurred around 2 a.m. on Bitters Road. A Blue Chevy Silverado hit a curb while turning onto Bitters Road from eastbound Lp 1604.

This caused the driver to lose control and crash into a light pole in the median. The driver then entered the northbound lanes and continued south in the wrong lane.

After travelling almost 800 feet in the wrong direction the Silverado struck a white Honda Civic and burst into flames.

Onlookers rescues the Silverado driver from the burning vehicle. The two people in the Civic were hospitalized with serious injuries.

The driver of the Silverado was also injured and hospitalized. Due to a high blood alcohol count the driver will be arrested and charged with two counts of intoxication assault.
