BLOOMBURG, TX – An elderly man died after being struck by a train near Bloomburg in Cass County on Friday afternoon, according to KTAL News.
The crash happened on County Road 4920, southeast of Bloomburg, at around 3 p.m., when 92-year-old James Martin failed to yield to an oncoming Union Pacific freight train at a railroad crossing.
Martin was struck by the northbound train while crossing over the tracks.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The accident remains under investigation at this time.
