TYLER, TX – Tyler Police are investigating a hit-and-run crash that killed cyclist late last week along Highway 64.
Emergency crews responded overnight to the stretch of highway near Big Oak Bay Road on the southeastern side of the city after receiving reports of a victim in the roadway.
A preliminary investigation indicates that Enrique Gomez was cycling along Highway 64 when an unknown vehicle struck him and fled the scene without stopping to render aid.
Authorities found Gomez unresponsive in the roadway and declared him deceased.
Police are actively seeking tips from anyone who may have witnessed the accident. There are no suspects thus far.
The investigation is ongoing.
