TYLER, TX – A 39-year-old motorcyclist died last Friday in a collision involving two other vehicles at an intersection on the southwest outskirts of Tyler.

The incident occurred around 4 p.m. at the intersection of TX-155 and CR-196, which is just north of Smith County Justice of the Peace Courts.

The investigation indicates that a westbound 2007 Chrysler Sebring failed to yield right-of-way at a stop sign to a southbound 2003 Yamaha Motorcycle and struck the latter vehicle in the intersection. The collision caused the motorcycle to strike a 2018 Toyota Rav4, which was stopped in the eastbound lane of CR 196.

The motorcyclist, identified as Sean O. Leary, died at the scene.

No other injuries were reported in the crash.

The investigation is ongoing.
