Narrative

EL PASO, TX – A collision in northeast El Paso Wednesday afternoon claimed the lives of two teens and left two others, including a child, injured.

The incident occurred when an SUV ran the red light at Gateway North Boulevard and McCombs Street, causing a collision with a 2010 Toyota Scion carrying 19-year-old Daniel Thurman and an 18-year-old passenger.

Both occupants of the Scion were taken to local hospitals with life-threatening injuries and later succumbed to their injuries.

The second vehicle involved was a 2016 Jeep Patriot driven by 31-year-old Leneisa Speller, who was traveling southbound at the time of the crash. Speller and her 8-year-old male passenger sustained injuries of undisclosed severity.
