Narrative
WILLACY COUNTY, TX — A 72-year-old woman died Tuesday morning after a single-vehicle crash on Texas Highway 186 near east Raymondville.
The fatal crash happened off of the eastbound lanes of TX-186 near Garcia Road, at around 6:00 a.m.
Officials with the Texas Department of Public Safety said the woman was driving a Ford pickup truck eastbound, when, for reasons still being investigated, the vehicle veered to the left and across all westbound lanes before it ran into a ditch along Garcia Road. The pickup then proceeded east in the west side ditch until it collided with a culvert, causing the vehicle to overturn.
The female driver, a resident of San Perlita, was pronounced deceased at the scene, confirmed the DPS.
No other injuries were reported.
State troopers continue to investigate the accident.
