WACO, TX – One person died, and two others went to the hospital after a hit-and-run collision in Waco two weeks ago.

The incident happened around 1:22 a.m. on Sunday, January 21, in the area of North 20th Street and Colcord Street, which is northwest of Seley Park.

Police say that the driver of a yellow or cream-colored sedan fled the scene after striking another vehicle.

One person in the vehicle that was struck died at the scene. Authorities have not yet released their identity to the public.

Two others in the vehicle sustained non-critical injuries.

Authorities arrested 24-year-old Mario Rocha, Jr. in connection to the accident. Rocha faces charges that include failure to render aid in a crash resulting in death.

The investigation is ongoing.
