HAMSHIRE, TX (JEFFERSON COUNTY) – One person is dead following a hit-and-run crash involving a dump truck near Highway 124 in Hamshire this evening, according to 12 News Now.
The crash happened near the intersection of Highway 124 and Craigen Road at around 5:15 p.m., when the driver of a 2010 Toyota SUV collided with the back of a 1994 Mack dump truck.
The driver of the dump truck then fled the scene.
A passenger in the SUV died at the scene.
The driver was taken to the hospital with undisclosed injuries.
The dump truck driver was later discovered by authorities and was determined to not be injured.
The accident remains under investigation at this time.
