1 dead, 1 injured following crash on FM 105 in West Orange

WEST ORANGE, TX (ORANGE COUNTY) – One person was killed and another was hospitalized due to a crash on FM 105 in Orange County yesterday afternoon, according to information from KFDM.

The crash happened on FM 105 Rd, about a half-mile from Burnet Street, at around 12:40 p.m., after the driver of a 2018 Honda passenger car pulled out of a private driveway.

The driver, 26-year-old Beaumont resident Corey Sparkman, pulled into the pathway of a northbound 2021 Ford pickup truck, driven by 29-year-old Hoang Xuan Tran, of Wilmington, North Carolina. The Ford then crashed into the driver’s side of the Honda.

Sparkman died at the scene.

Tran was taken to the hospital to receive treatment for undisclosed injuries.
