ORANGE, TX – Three people were hospitalized following a fiery, multi-vehicle crash on I-10 that led to extended closures and traffic delays in the Orange area on Sunday, according to 12 News Now.

The collision happened on I-10 eastbound near mile marker 877 at 2:10 p.m., when the driver of a 2018 Freightliner truck crossed over an uneven section of the highway.

The driver, 27-year-old Sahil Sharma, of Woodbury, New Jersey, braked over the road, causing the truck to skid into the left lane. There, it crashed into a four-door sedan being driven by 43-year-old Maria Soto, of Metairie, Louisiana.

The driver of a 2017 Harley-Davidson motorcycle, 42-year-old Christopher Winchester, of Alexandria, Louisiana, then lost control of his motorcycle when he attempted to stop in order to avoid the crash. His motorcycle then slid on the roadway.

All three vehicles then burst into flames.

Winchester, Soto, and Sharma were taken to the hospital in Beaumont for the treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities continue to investigate the crash at this time.
