Man hospitalized after crashing into stopped train in Beaumont

BEAUMONT, TX – A man was hospitalized after he crashed his pickup truck into a stopped train in Beaumont yesterday morning, according to information from 12 News Now.

The crash happened near Sunnyside Drive at the Union Pacific railyard at around 9 a.m., after the driver of a Toyota Tundra pickup truck crossed over the parking lot and multiple tracks while he was reportedly speeding. He then struck a tanker car.

The driver, who was not immediately identified, was trapped within the wreckage for about an hour before he was able to be extricated. After being rescued, the victim was taken to the hospital for severe injuries.
