Man injured in fiery crash on Gulfway Drive after driver runs stop sign

PORT ARTHUR, TX – One person was injured in a crash Thursday on Gulfway Drive after a driver failed to stop at a stop sign, according to the Texas Department of Transportation.

The crash happened on Gulfway Dr (State Highway 87) near Beaumont Avenue at 6:25 p.m., after the 28-year-old driver of a black 2016 GMC failed to stop at a stop sign. Her vehicle then collided with a black 2006 GMC, causing the second vehicle to catch fire.

The driver of the burned vehicle, a 36-year-old man, suffered possible injuries in the crash.

The at-fault driver and her three child passengers were unharmed in the accident.
