Man killed, person injured in T-bone crash on MLK Dr in Orange

ORANGE, TX – A man was killed and another person was injured in a T-bone crash in Orange yesterday evening, according to 12 News Now.

The crash happened in the 7600 block of Martin Luther King Drive at around 5:30 p.m., when the driver of a 2005 Ford SUV T-boned a white 2009 Chevrolet pickup truck.

The driver of the pickup, 75-year-old Orange resident Richard Colburn, had to be extricated using the jaws of life tool. Colburn was airlifted to the hospital in Beaumont, where he was pronounced dead at 7:27 p.m.

The other driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Colburn was a well-known local fishing guide who was often featured on KOGT Radio’s fishing broadcast.

Authorities continue to investigate the accident at this time.
