Man riding bicycle hit and killed by 18-wheeler on TX-62 in Orange

ORANGE, TX – A man riding his bicycle near State Highway 62 in Orange was fatally struck by an 18-wheeler truck on Wednesday morning, according to 12 News Now.

The crash happened in the 4500 block of TX-62 near FM 1078 Road at about 8:30 a.m., as 65-year-old Russell Jay Gibbs was riding his bicycle near the highway. He was then struck by the driver of an 18-wheeler truck.

Gibbs died at the scene.

It is unclear if the truck driver was hurt in the accident.
