Motorcyclist dead after suspected DUI crash in Port Arthur late Friday night

PORT ARTHUR, TX – A City of Port Arthur employee was killed in a motorcycle accident suspected of having involved a drunk driver on Gulfway Drive late Friday night, according to 12 News Now.

The crash happened in the 100 block of Gulfway Dr (16th Street) near Houston Avenue just before 11:59 p.m., when a motorcycle and another vehicle collided.

The motorcyclist, 47-year-old Port Arthur resident and employee James Addison, died as a result of the crash.

The other driver, 40-year-old Port Arthur man Christopher James, is suspected of having been under the influence when the crash happened. He was taken into police custody on suspicion of intoxication manslaughter.

He is being held in the Jefferson County Jail and his bond was set at $30,000.
