Multiple teens hospitalized after crashing into tree on FM 1130

LEMONVILLE, TX (ORANGE COUNTY) – Multiple teenagers headed to football camp were injured after their vehicle collided with a tree on FM 1130 yesterday morning, according to information from 12 News Now.

The crash happened on FM 1130 near Zavala Road at about 7 a.m., when the driver of a 2018 Ram pickup truck, a 16-year-old from Orange, went off the side of the road. The front of the vehicle then crashed into a tree.

The vehicle was carrying multiple students from Little Cypress-Mauriceville Consolidated Independent School District who were headed to football practice.

The driver and three of his passengers, ages 15, 13, and 12, were taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital to receive treatment for undisclosed injuries.

A second 12-year-old victim was taken to UTMB Health.

Authorities continue to investigate the crash at this time.
