JEFFERSON COUNTY, TX – Two people were killed following a head-on collision involving multiple vehicles on I-10 southwest of Beaumont last week, according to KFDM News.
The crash happened on I-10 East near Boyt Road at around 7:15 a.m. Thursday, after the driver of a 2017 Volkswagen passenger car headed westbound crashed into the center barrier.
The vehicle then went into the eastbound lanes, where it collided head-on with a 2006 Ford pickup truck headed eastbound. The impact sent the pickup truck into a 2002 Chevrolet pickup truck traveling in the same direction.
The drivers of the Ford and the Volkswagen both died at the scene. Their identities were not immediately released, pending family notification.
It is unclear if the driver of the Chevrolet was hurt in the crash.
Authorities continue to investigate the accident at this time.
