Two people hospitalized after two-vehicle crash on SH-347 in Port Arthur

PORT ARTHUR, TX – Two people were hospitalized after being involved in a two-vehicle collision on State Highway 347 in Port Arthur this weekend, according to information from 12 News Now.

The crash happened on southbound SH-347 near mile marker 458 at about 8 a.m. Sunday, when the driver of a southbound 2010 Lincoln SUV swerved into the lanes of opposite, northbound traffic. There, the driver, who was identified as 48-year-old Port Arthur man Joel Espinosa, collided head-on with a 2018 Buick SUV.

Espinosa was taken to the hospital in Beaumont with life-threatening injuries.

The other driver, 52-year-old Brenda Posey, also from Port Arthur, sustained non-critical injuries in the crash and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Authorities continue to investigate the accident at this time.
